Pros:

Cons:

Setting up account was dead easy.
Good customer service.
Overall, very happy I went with Firstrade.

Pros:

Cons:

I've been a customer of Firstrade for about 10 years and I've been very pleased with them for the duration. Obviously their commissions are very competitive, but they also offer fine service.

Their web site is responsive and rarely unavailable. Their reps are typically accessible when required, and they also will actually let you speak directly with back office personnel if you have an atypical situation (direct transfer of a beneficiary IRA in my case).

Although my trading is limited to stocks, bonds and CDs, they offer a wide range of securities. They also admit when there is a problem. I recently had a situation where I purchased a non-callable CD, but a callable CD was delivered. When I brought this to their attention, the transaction was immediately reversed.

Much of my retirement investments are held at Firstrade and I feel confident that I will be holding it there until I am ready to take my distributions. I look forward to a long working relationship with them.

Pros: Wireless account access and trading, as well as touch-tone phone trading--$12 for a market order.

Cons: Has been criticized on bulletin boards for poor customer service.

Not bad.

Pros:

Cons:

trades are fairly priced at 6.95, but there are cheaper prices at different brokers. firstrade doesn't have the best prices, but they are a great broker in my opinion.

Pros:

Cons:

Cheap enough, yes, Mabey ok for the swing trader or long term investor where speed
of execution is not critical. No frills, plain jane broker. Used them many years ago for
a short time. No real complaints, just that you get none of the tools as you do with
Think of Swim or others.
