Pros:

Cons:

Worst customer service, management I've experienced in 15 years. The handling of simple matters is so frustrating and difficult that I would not trust them to manage money. They should not be in business and the employees and management I dealt with are better suited working a drive through window at a fast food restaurant.

Pros: Absolutely non

Cons: absolutely everything

This account was transfered from Banc of America, to Merrill Edge, I have POA over it. Tried to withdraw some funds and was told that I didn't have the "proper paperwork" according to their records, although it was in place for Banc of America....so jump through the hoop, sign, notarize, fill out papers, get doctor letter. Then informed that my husband is first POA so he has to do a letter resigning, ok, done. faxed in everything....now 7 work days to process. ...so I decided I want to know the balance on the day I started this process. Call back, they can't tell me cause I am not authorized....get my husband on the phone, they tell him he has already been removed oh no wait he never was POA and I am not on there yet so they can't tell me anything. I have to wait till the end of the month for them to process their paperwork. Review here and going to my branch to report the total lack of customer service. All these investments should have been scrutinized to make sure all paperwork was in order....taking all the money and putting it somewhere else....I agree with the other guy, rahter bury it in my backyard!

Pros: Possibility of free trades, free checking account

Cons: Everything else about the company

Merrill Edge's Standard accounts commissions are above average in the industry and much better than hefty $30 per trade charged by
Merrill Lynch's old brokerage. Unfortunately, clients will also have to pay a $25 per quarter account maintenance fee, if they don't
have $50,000 account balance or make 15 trades in quarter. Since these requirements are too high for most people, this is a deal-breaker
for many prospective customers.

Pros: None

Cons: Morons

These guys try to move you to their highest fee Blackrock funds. Then once they realize you can read, they try to push to a lower fee fund -- but with a 5.25% font load. Then they say they can invest in Vanguard funds (which they actually can't). Then they try to assess a $75 account closure fee. Our account was rolled from Quick and Reilly to BofA to Merrill. We never ok'd or received notification of a closure fee. These guys are crooks, plain and simple.

Pros:

Cons:

Do not invest here! I used to work for Merrill Edge, Formally The Financial Advisory Center.. I can tell you that 90% of the people who work there have no idea what they are talking about. It starts from upper management, they are mostly all not bright. I worked there for 3 years and was amazed at the lack of intelligence from the people who were running the show.

The “Advisors” are just a bunch of 20 year old kids who are pretty much just told to get your money into merrill edge no matter what the cost or they lose their job. Most of them know very little about investing.

There are no morals at this place, I won’t be surprised if it is under investigation soon.

An example of how they treat their employees: After 10 years of service a manager had to take a 3 week leave to be with his wife who was very sick with cancer. When he came back, a week before Christmas, they fired him. I am sure they will try to cover it up by blaming it on something else, but everyone knows it was just because of the leave… I wish i was making that up.

Bottom line: after working there for 3 years, I would never ever under any circumstances, invest with Merrill Edge.

I would rather bury my money in my back yard.

Pros:

Cons:

I just found last week (Through a email from BOA) that I will be charged 100$ per year just to maintain my investment account. My next question was how to close my account, and the lady said it will cost me 95$ to transfer or close. I just transfered my account to Fidelity. It might suck, but at least they are not going to charge me anything. From tomorrow I will start my fight to reclaim 95$ they already charged my account.
